A few days ago, I got myself a Canon EOS 700D DSLR camera along with a Canon EFS 18-55mm lens for about $160. Until now, I've only ever used point-and-shoots, like my smartphone or my "Kodak" Pixpro AZ401....
This isn't strictly "homelab" related, but I'm not sure if there's a better community to post it....
I'm currently traveling for months at a time and my homelab has become unreachable to me over VPN due to a unknown complication after a power outage....
Hi everyone...
Trip: A poop question, sir? Can't I talk about the warp reactor or the transporter?...
Hi,...
I’m a nurse working shifts and sometimes 5 days without a pause and I still don’t know if I’m gonna take one of the 2 9 to 5 jobs my hospital system has offered. I’d earn less money, but I’m already 45 years old and I don’t know if I should call it quits and settle for a regular job 5 days a week and free weekends...

So it’s currently 100 degrees F in my garage today. I’m sure it will only get worse as the summer goes on. I added some of those insulated garage door panels, but I don’t think they did anything....
Just why send bridge crew. Those crew are important and mean to stay on the ship. Unless the mission required someone on the top like first-mate, you should send your boarding team or land team on mission....

I'm currently working on my sprinkler valve box. It sucks ass. It's dug in the ground. I'm on my knees trying to replace a Hunter valve. This is the second time I'm back here this week because replacing the diaphragm didn't fix the leak. I think I'm gonna have to replace the whole valve, but the stupid valves are in the stupid...
I have a fresh install of Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop 40. Every time I log into the DE, the Discover application opens automatically on start. How can I disable this behavior so that Discover does not automatically launch? There are no apps configured for autostart in the KDE autostart system settings.
I work in a basement office. There is a below-grade egress window, with a 3-4ft ladder and a large plexiglass dome that you can push out of the way....
I've recently picked up an Intel P4000 and I'm purchasing some parts to set it up. Since it's an older platform, I get that there are some limitations on what I can use, so I'm worried about buying things that aren't compatible....
I am simply on a quest to find an effective non-distillation method for purifying isopropyl alcohol used for rinsing resin 3D prints....

Back in 2023 I started a new game in #Satisfactory where I did set out (on a whim) to build the #BattlestarGalactica – and fair warning: I never finished it. I found some measurements of this iconic ship from the #BSG verse online, which is apparently something like 1.44km x 551m and converted this to 179.6 x 68.9 Satisfactory...
It would seem that I have far too much time on my hands. After the post about a Star Trek "test", I started wondering if there could be any data to back it up and... well here we go:...
